But tests by the US Food and Drug Administration have found two of New Zealand's most popular lipstick brands contain lead.
The agency tested 22 products and found Cover Girl and L'Oreal had the highest amounts of the potentially harmful neurotoxin - up to 3.06 parts per million.

Look, I'm 45, I had chlorine and fluoride in my drinking water all my life, mercury in my tooth fillings for most of my life and I probably swallowed kilos of lead-laden $2 lipstick in all those years but I'm still alive and well.
So maybe from now on I should be regarded as a medical phenomenon.
