Apparently been seen in Dunedin (captured on The Warehouse security camera)7 months after her disappearance from the tourist resort in Portugal. Don't think so.
But what do you think happened there? It was a very strange case right from the very beginning. Something didn't look quite right. For starters, responsible parents would not leave their three very young children by themselves in a hotel room in a foreign country, windows open,(!) while they are sitting in a restaurant 150 m away.
Of course we can only speculate because we don't know all the facts. Though I must say that I'm with the Portuguese police on this, even though they have been harshly criticised by Madeleine's parents and the British media. Even the statistics go against the parents - in most disappearances and deaths of children, one or both parents are usually the main culprits. But on the other hand, if the parents were guilty of accidentally or intentionally killing Madeline, would they continue this charade with their own private investigation, the media and so on for so many years?
