Re: Tikva in here please
Thank you very much, relict!!!
I am 100% determined not to have a smoke, and even though I was very, very sorely tempted, I just knew that all it would take is one puff to make me a smoker again. I quit because of getting another dose of Pneumonia, and the ghastly struggle to breathe that came with it! Thats 3 doses of Pneumonia in the past year. Not good.
Put simply, my need to breathe became stronger than my 'need' to smoke.
Sure am chewing a bit of the nicotine gum though!!
Once again, thanks.

Good on you, it took a friend of ours a dose of pleurisy to give up too but he's never gone back.

Re: Tikva in here please
Four weeks Smoke Free!! Yayyyyyyyyyyy!! Not one, tiny, single puff have I taken, and I am still determined not to. Have had some tough times when the desire is strong, but managed to resist. Have taken to listening to "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" Audiobook (Allen Carr) so that by the time I come off the nicotine replacements, I should be okay.
Now can breathe easier, not having hardly any headaches (used to be almost a daily thing!), and for some odd reason I drink less Coca Cola than I used to as well.
I'm gonna keep on keeping on!

Re: Tikva in here please
Just a wee update ~ now 8 weeks 100% Smoke Free, although I certainly am not letting my guard down in the slightest! To be honest, at about 5-6 weeks it got somewhat harder, and still is, but that probably has more to do with external factors.
Just as determined as I was when I started.
