Background Information:
Male was in a relationship with Female who Physically and Mentally abused him. Female was convicted of Intent to Injure 1 to 2 years ago. Abuse continued until a few months ago Male 'lost it' and instead of just taking the physical abuse, lashed out and physically abused female (after she had punched him). Male gets arrested, female takes out Protection Order, and also includes their Son in the Order. Female now lives with the Son in the North Island, Male now living in the south of the South Island.
Question/s:
As the Protection Order includes their Son, will this affect the Males ability to have contact and visitation with him in the future, even if this is obtained through the Family Court?
The Protection Order is not permanent yet, with a date set for the end of October for when it will become permanent. Can Male fight to have his Son's name taken off the Protection Order?
Naturally, Male is looking for good Lawyer, but wanted to get an idea of what he may be up against so that he can ensure he gets the 'right' lawyer for his needs.
Many thanks for any constructive advice given!
