Loose translation is "I am the river, the river is me", it's part of a Whanganui iwi whakatauki (proverb), "I rere kau mai te awa nui mai te kahui maunga ki Tangaroa, ko au te awa, ko te awa ko au" (I think), "As I soar down the wide river from the might mountains to the sea, I am the river, the river is me".

I'm a water baby through and through, this whakatauki has always been MINE.

If I was to ever get a tattoo, I'd get that tattoo'd in Arabic.
