Isn't this argument rather pointless though, as offense is attached to a word by a user or a recipient, so it depends on their belief. It doesn't depend on the 'actual' word, or even the original meaning of the word.
is the smartest post in the entire thread. I have heard the word pakeha used offensivly many times. Doesnt really matter what the original meaning is.
Calling someone "a gay idiot" for example 20 years ago had a totally different meaning then it would today.
Though in saying that carieann is still a twit and of course red neck fishman and his civil war appeared
